Reports To:
Plant Manager

Overall Objective:
  • Ensure that production targets are met.
  • Improve the efficiency, quality, and capacity of the Campbell Heights Warehouse.
  • Deliver parts that meet or exceed Hansen's primary quality objectives (99% acceptance, 97% on-time delivery).
  • Contribute to the profitability and growth of the Campbell Heights Warehouse.
  • Assist Hansen Industries Ltd. in achieving secondary quality objectives (85% satisfaction rating, improved internal non-conformance identification).

Skills Required:
  • Proven supervisory skills.
  • Experience with CNC programming and CAD.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and lean manufacturing.
  • Strong sheet metal and assembly experience with problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe and safety regulations.
  • Ability to cover any shop tasks when needed including but not limited to shear, forming, punch, assembly, shipping, receiving, inventory, safety.

Responsibilities:
Production and Efficiency:
  • Meet customer due dates, eliminate late jobs, and improve scheduling efficiency.
  • Lead the team in increasing overall efficiency at individual workstations and across the shop.
  • Continuously improve processes, quality, and capacity through documentation and analysis.
  • Work closely with Purchasing to optimize inventory.

Employee Management and Development:
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and develop employees while maintaining a training matrix with HR.
  • Measure employee development and provide leadership to achieve high standards of quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through team involvement, training, and development programs.
  • Performance reviews on all direct reports in Campbell Heights Warehouse.
  • Performance feedback to Overlander/Hansen Managers who have direct reports in Campbell Heights Warehouse.

Leadership and Development:
  • Recruitment, hiring and training new shop employees.

Safety and Maintenance:
  • Ensure the safety of all shop employees by adhering to WorkSafe and company safety procedures working with Overlanders Safety Associate.
  • Monitor and schedule regular maintenance of all equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shop environment.

Quality Control:
  • Work with Quality Manager and Quality Technician to maintain high product quality standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work with schedulers to ensure jobs are delivered on time and meet or exceed customer expectations.

Coordination and Meetings:
  • Coordinate with the Plant Manager on material and tool acquisitions and attend production and management meetings as required.
  • Lead daily huddles and other necessary meetings to ensure smooth operations.

Process and System Improvements:
  • Implement and drive improvements in production processes, methods, and systems.
  • Assist in the acquisition of new equipment and software to improve shop capabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and lean procedures across all shop functions.
