About the Job
Hansen Industries is looking to hire a detail-oriented candidate to fulfil the Junior Estimator position.
Core Responsibilities:
- Review customer drawings and generate estimates.
- Contact customers about Request for Quote.
- Authorize Customer Purchase Orders.
- Respond to phone messages and emails in a timely manner.
- Review completed jobs to assess actual times vs. estimates.
- Update estimates with routing request changes.
- Follow jobs through the shop and discuss with the Supervisor/Lead Hand/Manager estimated times and operations for a job so that the jobs run as planned.
Qualifications & requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training is preferred.
- 1-2 years’ work experience in manufacturing industry.
- Experience in the fabrication industry an asset.
- Ability to read engineering drawings (blueprints).
- Sales experience is an asset.
- Self-motivated/Self-starter with a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent Customer Services skills.
